Welcome to the Catholic Altar Servers Association of Nigeria (CASAN) – St. Mary ACC Atan
The Catholic Altar Servers Association of Nigeria (CASAN) at St. Mary ACC Atan is a group of dedicated young Catholics who serve God at the altar during Mass and other Church celebrations. Our members assist the priest, help maintain reverence in the liturgy, and contribute to the spiritual growth of the parish community.
Through prayer, discipline, training, and service, we help young people develop strong Christian values and leadership skills. CASAN promotes teamwork, responsibility, and commitment to God and the Church. We welcome all interested youths who desire to serve faithfully, grow in their faith, and become positive examples in society.

Mission: To nurture committed altar servers who serve God faithfully and uphold the values of the Catholic faith.
Vision: To build a community of spiritually sound, disciplined, and responsible young Catholics dedicated to serving Christ and His Church.
President
Meet Our President – Server Jeremiah James Udo
Server Jeremiah James Udo is the President of the Catholic Altar Servers Association of Nigeria (CASAN), St. Mary ACC Atan. He is committed to serving God with humility, dedication, and faith. Through his leadership, he encourages altar servers to grow spiritually, remain disciplined, and carry out their duties with reverence.
As President, Jeremiah works closely with fellow servers and Church leaders to promote unity, teamwork, and excellence in service. He supports the training of new members, organizes activities, and inspires everyone to live according to Christian values. His goal is to help every altar server become a faithful servant of Christ and a positive role model in the Church and the community.
Secretary General
Server Dominic Emmanuel as the Secretary General of the Catholic Altar Servers Association of Nigeria (CASAN), St. Mary ACC Atan. He is dedicated to serving God and supporting the growth of the association through faithful leadership and commitment.
As Secretary General, he keeps important records, prepares meeting minutes, manages official communication, and helps coordinate the activities of the association. He works closely with other executives to ensure that every programme is well organized and that members remain informed.
Dominic believes that altar serving is a call to serve Christ with humility, discipline, and love. He encourages members to grow in faith, respect Church teachings, and be good examples in their homes, schools, and communities. Through his service, he continues to promote unity, teamwork, and spiritual development among all CASAN members at St. Mary ACC Atan.

Meet Our Chef Coordinator – Chef John Etido Udo
Chef John Etido Udo is the Coordinator of the Catholic Altar Servers Association of Nigeria (CASAN), St. Mary ACC Atan. He is committed to guiding and supporting altar servers as they grow in faith, discipline, and service to God.
He works closely with the chaplain and parish leaders to organize training, meetings, and spiritual activities. His leadership encourages teamwork, respect, responsibility, and dedication among all members.
Chef John believes that every altar server should serve with humility, confidence, and love for God. He inspires young people to be faithful in their duties, develop good character, and become positive role models in the Church and the community.
Under his guidance, CASAN St. Mary ACC Atan continues to grow as a family of committed altar servers who are united in prayer, service, and excellence. His vision is to help every member become a faithful disciple of Christ through active participation in the life and mission of the Church.

About the Chief Sacristan – (Chief) Sylvester James
(Chief) Sylvester James serves as the Chief Sacristan of the Catholic Altar Servers Association of Nigeria (CASAN), St. Mary ACC Atan. He is committed to ensuring that everything needed for the celebration of the Holy Mass is properly prepared. His dedication, experience, and love for the Church make him a trusted leader and mentor to altar servers.
He guides altar servers with patience, discipline, and respect. He encourages them to serve God with humility, reverence, and excellence. Through his leadership, members learn the importance of prayer, responsibility, teamwork, and faithful service. His commitment continues to inspire both young and experienced servers to carry out their duties with devotion and honor.
Prepares for Mass: Sets up the altar, chalice, missal, lectionary before Mass starts Trains other altar servers: Shows junior servers how to handle vessels, when to ring bells, how to assist the priest/deacon Coordinates servers: Assigns roles for Mass — who carries cross, holds book, rings bells, etc. Caretaker of sacred items: Makes sure nothing is damaged/lost. Handles purifying vessels after Mass Liaison: Works with the priest, liturgy committee, and other ministers

Executive Council
The Executive Council of CASAN, St. Mary Autonomous Catholic Community (ACC), Atan Ikot Okoro, is committed to promoting faithful service, spiritual growth, discipline, and unity among altar servers. The council works together to organize activities, support members, and ensure that all liturgical duties are carried out with reverence, dedication, and love for God. Through teamwork and responsible leadership, the executives strive to strengthen the association and inspire every member to serve Christ with humility and excellence.

St. John Berchmans
St. John Berchmans, the Patron Saint of altar servers, is known for his deep love for the Holy Eucharist, humility, obedience, and faithful service at the altar. His life remains a shining example of holiness and dedication, inspiring every altar server to serve God with reverence, discipline, and joy.
Executive Officers

Provides leadership for the association, oversees its activities, and promotes unity, discipline, and the spiritual growth of all members.
Vice President – Dominic Victor Aloysius
Assists the President in carrying out leadership responsibilities and coordinates the affairs of the association whenever the President is unavailable.
Secretary – Dominic Emmanuel Joseph
Keeps accurate records of meetings, prepares official correspondence, and maintains the association's documents and archives.
Treasurer – Moses Sunday Unanam
Manages the association's funds responsibly and ensures proper accountability for all financial transactions.
Financial Secretary – Shedrach Peter Romanus
Records all financial contributions, maintains financial records, and works closely with the Treasurer to ensure transparency and accountability.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) – Samuel James Udo
Promotes the activities of the association, communicates important information to members and the parish community, and helps maintain a positive public image.
Chief Sacristan – (Chief) Sylvester James
Oversees the sacristy and ensures that all liturgical items, vestments, sacred vessels, and altar materials are properly prepared before every Mass and liturgical celebration. He also mentors altar servers in the proper conduct, discipline, and reverence required in serving at the altar.
Chief Coordinator – (Chief) John Etido Udo
Coordinates the activities and programmes of the association, promotes effective communication among members, and supports the smooth planning and execution of meetings, trainings, and special events. He works closely with the Executive Council to ensure unity, organization, and the continued growth of the association.
